Bride kidnapping, also known as marriage by abduction or marriage by capture, is a form of marriage practiced in a few traditional cultures, in countries spanning Central Asia, the Caucasus region, parts of Africa, and among the Hmong in southeast Asia. In most countries, bride kidnapping is considered a sex crime, rather than a valid form of marriage. However, some versions of it may also be seen as falling along the continuum between forced marriage and arranged marriage.

Amazing: F-15 Lands Miraculously With an Entire Wing Missing

Famous pictures and video of an Israeli F-15, flown by pilot Zivi Nedivi in 1983, who managed to return to base safely after losing an entire wing in a mid-air collision with an A-4 Skyhawk. An absolutely remarkable display of piloting skill, not to mention a fabulous demonstration of the durability of the F-15 Eagle.

Gun That Shoots Round Corners

It looks and fires like something out of Star Wars, but the latest weapon that Akron Police have in their arsenal certainly appears to be from a galaxy far, far away.

It’s called “Corner Shot”, and it allows officers to load their sidearm into an expandable arm that extends around a corner. Using a video monitor to see that target, the officer can fire a round at a 90-degree angle while staying protected behind cover.

“Expose a weapon, expose a lethal threat, without exposing any part of your body,” said Capt. Mike Shearer. “So it’s looks like a very nice weapon.”
