He’s a dormouse. Dormice hibernate in the winter in nests that they make hidden away on the ground. In Britain the dormouse may spend up to a third of its life in hibernation. Dormice usually enter hibernation at the time of the first frost, when nearly all food is gone. Dormice rely upon fat reserves gathered in the summer and autumn, and during hibernation they lose about a quarter of their body weight.

According to what I read, the aggressiveness of this little guy is normal. Field hamsters regularly defend themselves against Weasels or Foxes. This hissing little demon is the Chuck Norris of hamsters.
Neaparat trebuie sa va arat ce anume mi-a captat atentia in aceasta minunata dupa-amiaza. Un mic luptator neinfricat! Cel mai infricosator hamster pe care l-ati vazut vreodata, un adevarat Chuck Norris al hamsterilor!
Update: In limbaj local, noi il numim harciog insa americanii il numesc “hamster de camp”. In copilarie, de fiecare data cand vedeam cate unul pe campul din spatele blocului, o luam la goana si tipam ca disperatii: “Fugiiiiiiiiiti! Un hargioc. Asta sare la cua*eeeeeee”!!!. Acum vad si eu – pentru prima oara – unul in actiune. Se pare ca procedam bine pe vremea aia, fuga a fost cel mai bun lucru posibil. In caz contrar ne-o luam ca baietii de mai jos:
