Landing at LAX International Airport via the SADDE Six Arrival.The video is sped up to somewhere between Mach 1 and Mach 2. The original idea was to a) compress a 30 minute approach into three minutes; and b) to see what it would look like if you you were riding on the back of a cruise missile.
The camera was a Canon S95 which is a great pocket low light camera. This video simply wouldn’t have been possible with any other pocket camera. If you want a great travel camera, be sure to check it out.
Atunci cand zburam cu avionul suntem cumva ingraditi de geamurile alea minuscule astfel ca nu ne putem bucura mai deloc de peisaje. Bine, cert este ca mai toate zborurile se petrec la o altitudine destul de mare ( ~10.000 metri) si singura satisfactie a noastra ramane in faptul ca putem sta deasupra norilor, loc in care ajungem cu greu si foarte rar. 😀

Stiu ca va doreati de mult sa faceti o tura cu elicopterul si iata ca o astfel de ocazie s-a ivit tocmai in timp ce cititi aceste randuri. 🙂 Astazi puteti zbura in sfarsit, virtual, prin intermediul acestui film interactiv realizat cu un echipament special care ne da posibilitatea sa vizionam imprejurimile la 360 de grade.
Nu uitati sa dati un click in interiorul imaginii si sa “trageti” de el stanga-dreapta. Daca gasiti materialul complet (cel de 5 minute) sa-mi dati de stire.

De tot ce aveti nevoie pentru a realiza acest truc este: o tigara fara filtru si un pahar rece. Si – important – nu trageti aerul in piept (asta inseamna ca si nefumatorii pot participa) si nu-l suflati in pahar, lasati-l sa “curga”.
Nota autorului: prea mult antrenament poate produce cancer asa ca luati-o usor… 😀

Here is a view from a European (living in the Alps): yes, obviously, natural sounds are nice but the artists here wanted to do it their way, the American way. I find this video fantastic. Truly American version. Love it. Different, original, great music, exciting. If you like the Swiss mellow type then you should perhaps search under Swiss paragliding.
In urma cu cateva luni am mai postat un material despre speed flying iar astazi pot spune din nou ca este un sport extrem de spectaculos dar deosebit de periculos. Si ca sa intelegeti mai bine, in 2009 si-au pierdut viata noua practicanti, nu punem la socoteala si numeroasele cazuri de accidentari grave (oase rupte & shit) – detalii aici.
Un sport mult prea extrem insa deosebit de spectaculos (ma repet, stiu!).

A promo for the 2011 AFC Asian Cup held in Doha, Qatar for Al Kass Sport Channel.
The story is of an epic battle between watermen and sandmen that represent the fishermen and Bedouins that came together to build Doha as we know it today.
The players make their way through the old culturally rich, and the new architecturally iconic parts of the city and end up at the grand Khalifa Stadium for an epic showdown.
Cupa Asiei, un eveniment destul de neinteresant pentru noi, europenii. Mai jos avem un promo despre care pot spune doar ca este excelent realizat. Competitia a inceput pe 6 Ianuarie iar pe 29 Ianuarie se va desfasura finala. Intregul program il gasiti aici.
