Synopsis
Paper Diaosi* living in a white paper world always has nothing to do. One day, he sees an amazing beauty living on the opposite side of his building. When he is about to propose, the second Paper Diaosi shows up, it makes him furious. In order to get the beauty’s love, the two Paper Diaosi begin to fight each other. Time pasts every second. The beauty starts to lose patient. Who will win her love?
*Diaosi in Chinese means someone who is young, poor, miserable but never loses hopes for a better live.

The Jockstrap Raiders is a Student Academy Award winning animated short film about a group of misfits during world war I. It takes place in Leeds, England where our heroes are all excluded from the war due to various abnormalities. Threatened by the invading German Kaiser and his army, they must learn to become a team and overcome their deficiencies in order to save Britain, and the world.
Completed at UCLA, it is Mark Nelson’s MFA thesis project. The short has won many awards, including: Student Academy Award; Best Animation, British Animation Festival; Best Animation Macon Film Festival; Best Narrative Short GI Film Festival; Audience Award Orlando Film Festival.

We were shooting for a commercial with my D.O.P, waiting for an helicopter flying into the sunset, when thousands and thousands of birds came and made this incredible dance in the sky. It was amazing, we just forgot our job and started this little piece of poetry… Enjoy !

Pe Skypici (Florin Marza) il cunoasteti deja, este o vedeta a acestui blog. Si mai stiti foarte bine ca omul este un pasionat practicant de parkour, Florin fiind si protagonistul unui scurt metraj difuzat pe Discovery (detalii – aici). 😉

Mai jos puteti urmari ultima sa realizare.

Initial am vrut sa fie un scurt metraj. Din motive personale am fost nevoit sa aman filmarile. Cand am vrut sa ma reapuc, locul in care trebuia sa filmez s-a schimbat radical. Am lasat-o balta cu scurt metrajul si am inceput sa filmez pentru un documentar despre mai multe discipline sportive. Nici pe acesta nu am reusit sa-l duc la bun sfarsit. O perioada buna nu m-am mai gandit deloc la filmari si ideile s-au ratacit. Mi-am luat totusi inima in dinti si am zis sa le combin cumva….a iesit acest minidocumentar. Ideea principala este despre cum alegem sa ne exteriorizam energia pe care toti o avem in interior. Unii o irosesc, altii aleg sa depaseasca imaginatia si sa rupa propriile limite. In acest filmulet, am incercat sa-mi expun ideile in asa fel incat sa ii motivez pe cei ce au nevoie. Nu va asteptati la miscari spectaculoase, pentru ca dupa cum vorbesc la un moment dat si in filmulet, am avut o perioada in care am ramas singur in ceea ce faceam iar asta m-a adus la pamant, insa nu am ales sa fiu la fel ca ceilalti, sa ma apuc de fumat, baut sau alte prostii, mi-am concentrat energia spre altceva, si anume ciclism. Aici am descoperit alte bariere iar mie cum imi place noul si sa ma depasesc mereu, m-am axat numai pe ciclism. Ciclismu mi-a placut din copilarie, inainte de a afla de parkour, dar cum atunci nu am avut sansa sa am o bicicleta… E cel mai greu sport pe care l-am practicat pana acum. Trebuie sa treci de niste bariere psihice de neimaginat. 1 an de zile m-am axat numai pe asta dar ce mi-a ajuns la inima si devenise candva un mod de viata pentru mine, vroia sa iasa din nou la suprafata, si a facut-o….a iesit putin cam ruginita la dar voi avea grija sa scap de rugina. Nu stiu ce va urma in continuare dar de un lucru sunt sigur: voi alege intotdeauna sa fiu diferit.

Acest scurt-metraj ilustreaza puterea cuvintelor, modalitatea prin care acestea ne pot ajuta ca mesajul nostru catre cei din jur sa capete o alta semnificatie.
Un filmulet destul de vechi, dar care merita scos in fata macar o data la 10 ani. 🙂
