Localitatea Wagah a fost impartita in doua de frontiera dintre India si Pakistan, asemenea Berlinului, jumatate in Pakistan, jumatate in India. Acesta este singurul punct de frontiera aflat pe un drum intre cele doua tari. Mii de oameni sunt prezenti in fiecare seara pentru a asista la coborarea drapelurilor si ceremonialul inchiderii frontierei.
Poate multi dintre voi stiati acest lucru, ceremonia din imaginile de mai jos se intampla zilnic insa fiti atenti la modul in care “se exprima” soldatii.
Guvernul indian a inceput separarea teritoriului sau de cel al Pakistanului printr-o zona militarizata si delimitata de garduri cu sarma ghimpata, inca din 2003, pentru a preveni contrabanda ai traficul de arme.
Update: Iar aici puteti sa admirati granita dintre Pakistan si India, vazuta din spatiu, pe timpul noptii din Statia Spatiala Internationala (Nasa).

Ross Technology Corp. – o firma americana de renume – incearca sa gasesca o solutie pentru a reduce procesul de coroziune asupra produselor din otel pe care le fabrica. Negasind pana acum ceva util pe piata s-au hotarat sa inventeze o substanta care sa aiba proprietatile respective. Rezultatul?
NeverWet (tradus “niciodata ud”) – o substanta pe baza de silicon care poate fi aplicata pe suprafetele metalice dar si pe cele vestimentare, suprafata tratata comportandu-se surprinzator de bine la contactul cu apa sau cu uleiurile grele.

This system is designed for unattended photo capture of speeding violations and optionally, immediate transmission of the captured data for back office processing.
Simicon a prezentat recent noua sa inventie – radarul Cordon. Acest radar promite standarde noi de precizie in monitorizarea strazilor. Daca majoritatea radarelor pot depista un singur ”vitezoman” concomitent, radarul companiei Simicon poate depista pina la 32 de vitezomani aflati concomitent pe 4 benzi de circulatie.
Cand o masina va intra in raza aparatului, acesta va genera 2 imagini: una cu o vedere larga a masinii si un zoom cu numarul placutei de inmatriculare. Cordon este capabil sa masoare instantaneu viteza masinii si sa ii inregistreze pozitia pentru a o sincroniza cu alte baze de date via Wifi, 3G sau WiMAX. In plus, radarul este compact si rezistent, putand fi montat pe un trepied sau pe un indicator stradal, fiind dificil soferilor sa il detecteze vizual.
Nu stiu cand acest tip de radar va putea fi folosit si in Romania cert este ca americanii asteapta sa-l testeze mai intai pe teritoriul Americii de Nord, asta in primul semestru al lui 2012.
